Grecian Delight

Grecian Delight

For a little over a decade, Grecian Delight Deli and Bakery has remained one of the best kept secrets of Myrtle Beach. A vast menu of Greek specialties and a cozy atmosphere has provided visitors with a perfect place to sit back and enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner without breaking the budget. Even in the middle of the summer rush, this elegant diner remains peaceful, safely tucked away from the usual tourist crowds.

The lunch menu consists of traditional Greek favorites including Gyros and Souvlakis that come stuffed with chicken, steak, lamb, or shrimp and topped with a tangy homemade Tzatziki sauce. The appetizer list is enough to keep any patron busy, but for one’s first taste of Grece, the restaurant’s sampler platter best showcases the finest hors d’oeuvres of the region. Fresh Spanakopita and the hand-packed Meatballs boast the restaurant’s attention to fresh spinach and lamb’s meat, but even plain Pitas with Hummus or Tzatziki will seem like a pre-dinner dessert. Subs and other sandwiches are available if fresh, handmade pitas aren’t your style, and selections include a Meatball Sub that puts any franchise to shame. Every lunch selection includes a side of fries or chips for under $8 and appetizers are no more than $6 per plate.

The dinner menu turns up the portions and presentations without hoisting the prices. Ranging anywhere from $12 - $18, dinner platters include a large serving of a Mediterranean favorite, often accompanied with a salad, soup, bread, or rice pilaf. Among the restaurant favorites are the meaty Lasagna, slow-roasted Lamb, or any of the local seafood selections like dill Salmon or grilled Tilapia. Also, keep in mind that many items on the dinner menu can be special ordered for lunch, although this is a secret that has only been available to locals.

In addition to the usual soft drink and tea choices, Grecian Delight offers fresh Greek Coffee by the cup (a rarity in Myrtle Beach) and a large selection of domestic and imported wines and beers.

The restaurant also offers some of the finest desserts in Myrtle Beach, including their award-winning Baklava and unbelievably dense Tiramisu.

Each year, Myrtle Beach hosts a wildly popular Greek Festival in September at the St. John’sChurchon Highway 17 Bypass. Grecian Delight has been a proud family sponsor of this event since their opening and provide festival-goers with their signature Souvlakis and Gyros, in addition to their famed baked goods.

Grecian Delight is located at

5900 North Kings Highway
